Hull & Deck Construction

Balsa core/biaxial E-glass vacuum infused hull laminate. Corecell/biaxial E-glass deck laminate. Engineered and built to current ISO and ABS structural standards.

White gel coat hull with single bootstripe.

Molded companionway slide-in seahood.

ORC size molded foredeck toe-rails.

GRP molded main structural bulkhead, bonded fore & aft on hull and deck with single opening to forepeak.

Easiest High Performance Boat To Sail!

Efficient, Comfortable Cockpit.

Sailors spend more time in the cockpit than anywhere else, and this is where the J/111 shines. There's comfortable seating (with backrests) for six, easy movement afoot with floor mounted traveler and well positioned foot braces, an open transom for easy boarding, and large 60” wheel so the driver can comfortably sit on the high or low side, on any point of sail, yet still see the telltales and waves. All principal controls are led aft and the driver can adjust the mainsheet, traveler and backstay from the helm position. An optional dodger is available to give the crew additional weather protection to extend the season.

Spacious Cruising Interior.

The J/111 has all the essentials below for comfortable overnights and short cruises. The main cabin features an open layout with L-shaped galley, forward facing nav station, a wet locker and two full length settee berths with option for additional fold-up sea-berths. Six can comfortably sit for dinner. Two spacious aft quarter berths are standard, as well as a private forward head and removable V-berth.

 

Less Crew = More Sailing.

Sailboats that are easier to sail are sailed more often. It's that simple. The J/111 is the latest “sport boat” one-design from the company who introduced modern-day sprit sailing to the keelboat world (J/105 in 1991).

A crew of two can fully manage the setting, jibing and dropping of the asymmetrical spinnaker where normally 5-6 are required to manage a conventional spinnaker. With a mainsail on slides, a furling jib and large wheel that gives you fingertip control, the J/111 can be off the dock and sailing in minutes.

J’s Cruise Manhasset Fall Series
(Manhasset, New York)- The 39th annual Manhasset Fall Series took place over October 14th, 15th and 21st, a classic fall series event.  The event was blessed with an incredible variety of conditions over the two weekends, from near gales one day, to sunny and not much winds another day- true shorts & shades conditions.  Such is sailing on the western end of Long Island Sound in the fall- it can be literally any weather condition you can imagine- some year’s it’s even snowed!Thankfully, the Manhasset YC Race Committee crew and volunteers did a...

Riveting Annapolis YC Fall Series
(Annapolis, MD)- For the 2017 edition of the annual fall tradition on the Chesapeake Bay, a large turn-out of J/crews participated in the Annapolis YC’s Fall Series.  A wind variety of weather conditions greeted the eager crews that were sailing in J/22s, J/70s, J/80s, J/30s, J/35s, J/105s and a smattering of J’s in ORC handicap division.In six windward/leeward races and one long distance coastal race, the Annapolis YC Fall Series “Big Boat” division in ORC 1 Class was won by Jim Connelly’s J/111 SLUSH FUND; they were well-tuned and trained after going up...

Hamble Winter Series- Week 3 Report
(Hamble, England)- The third weekend of sailing took place last weekend for the Hamble Winter Series, sponsored by The Bugle Hamble. Windy Hamble Winter Series Regatta
(Hamble, England)- The first day of the Hamble One Design Championships began with wind in the low 20s, and gusts of up to 30 knots. The Hamble River Sailing Club race committee team headed out to Jonathan Jansen, and after a short AP the wind began to ease to around 16 knots, and the race team delivered a full schedule of four windward-leeward races in short order.
